TW is using coolant

Good question. I like the car and prefer to keep it. Winter without a heater is a pain. I'll look at the cost of dash in/out. If I do this, I may as well replace the heater core as well.
Yes I think a TL might need this sometime.
Any experiences people could recount with this would be useful.

Often the heater core is still fine, its the seals that give out, not a good system but cheap for mitsubishi I guess. I replaced the heater core seals in a KJ Verada I had 4 years ago, big job, I done it over the xmas holidays, I sold the car to a work colleague 3 years ago and its still fine, no leaks.

The heater core seals are a perfectly fine design. these seals fail once in the car's lifetime, and usually it is 10-15yrs after manufacture. Often people tell me it's a shit design and I reckon people need to manage their expectations.

It is not that big of a job to change. Do it yourself. Do not be frightened. Cars are assembled while moving slowly on a line - in seconds. Everything unbolts or unclips.

Get a set of the seals and the plastic spigots as these will certainly break when being removed.

What I mean is the design is not as good as the second gen which didn't have the plastic pipes, was copper I think
